EIGHT volunteers from Amey and Cannop Depot have helped give Lydney Dial-A-Ride’s bus station a face-lift.

Volunteers tackled the overgrown greenery which was affecting the parking spaces and some even joined the drivers to help passengers on and off the minibuses and talk to them.

The day was part of the Amey PLC community programme which allows members of staff to spend one day a year helping charities.

Manager of Lydney Dial-A-Ride, Louise Currie said: “Being a busy community transport charity, it’s difficult to find the time for everything, so when Hilary Baker called from Amey we knew we could put them to good use.”

“It was a fantastic day. The volunteers all worked so hard and hopefully they will be able to talk about our services to others in the area.”
