GIRLS at the Second Cinderford Brownies have been planting daffodils to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care as part of a Girlguiding UK project to help change the world.

They planted the flowers to reflect the care provided by Marie Curie nurses and each girl decorated a pot wrapper for her flowerpot.

The entries were judged at a fundraising coffee evening which raised over £100 for the charity.

Lauren Smith was the winner and her pot wrapper will now be entered into a national competition.

Brownies tucked into a daffodil cake and took their mini pots home as Mothering Sunday presents.
