THERE were plenty of cheers coming from Drybrook RFC on Sunday as two of their home-grown talents helped England beat Canada in the Women's Rugby World Cup final.
Worcester fly-half Ceri, 23, and Lichfield scrum-half Natasha 'Mo' Hunt, 25, played an impressive game against their Canadian rivals in Paris ending on a 21-9 win.
The girls' section manager, Mandy Meredith said: "A crowd of us watched the game at the club as we were proud that two of our girls were playing in the England World Cup team. It's such a fantastic achievement for the girls and Drybrook RFC.
"I have spoken to Ceri's mum and she said it has been 'very emotional' and she's 'ecstatic' with the girls' achievement. Both girls played for Drybrook until they were 18 and then went off to college and played rugby for the England under 20s. They both played at county and divisional level, and were selected to play for England a few weeks ago where they have been training.
"We are over the moon for them."
The club are always looking for new players, to join the girls' section call Mandy on 07500664994 or for the ladies section call Lucie on 07833678401.
