GLOUCESTER-

SHIRE Police carried out two separate raids in Cinderford last week, seizing cannabis from an address in the town and arresting a 56-year-old man on suspicion of a firearms offence.

Gloucestershire police say the cannabis, seized on Thursday (February 16) from an empty house near the Soldiers and Sailors Club in the town, together with associated equipment, had a street value of around £100,000. No arrests had been made as the Review went to press.

Police say a raid on Valley Road Industrial Estate in Cinderford on Friday (February 17) was not connected. Winchester rifle rounds and an item modified for use as a firearm were seized from a premises on the estate.

A police spokesperson said: “A 56-year-old man was arrested and has been bailed to return to the police on 27 March in connection with a firearms offence.”
