MEET the most dedicated team of butter spreaders in the Forest.
These are the ladies who have cut the sandwiches and prepared the refreshments for Cinderford's carnival – and they have done it without reward for the past 21 years!
Every year they meet up at Mrs Vera Cox's Parragate, Cinderford, home to cut up, butter up and wrap up hundreds of sarnies to be delivered to the show ground for the afteroon's entertainment.
The team starts work at around 7am in the morning and have most of the food prepared by the time local Scouts arrive to take delivery about five hours later.
"It's been a lot of hard work but we do have a laugh," said Mrs Cox.
The money raised from the sale of the sandwiches goes to Cinderford Scouts.
