DID anyone celebrate the lighting of the beacon on the Mesne at Primrose Hill on Thursday, April 21?
A few did – but countless local people were unaware of this event or even what time it was being lit.
Why? Because we were not informed.
Surely the town council’s finances could stretch to publishing notice of this event in the local Press?
Apparently two police personnel were in attendance to possibly ‘control a crowd’ of approximately 25 to 30 people.
What a shame that lack of information meant local people, particularly children, missed out on part of the Queen’s birthday celebrations.
