FRIENDS of Dene Magna (FDM) celebrated another successful summer fair at the school on Sunday.
Chair of FDM, Nicola Hacker said: “Our aim was to put on an enjoyable event for the
community and our students to celebrate the end of term. The atmosphere was great and we had a really good turnout.
“Students ran stalls raising funds for the exchange trips to Okinawa in Japan and to Kenya, so we weren’t just supporting our local community but building a relationship with other communities overseas.”
Year Nine pupil James Martin planned and ran his own ‘beat the goalie’ stall to raise money for Cancer Research and there
were inflatables, assault courses and Sumo wrestling taking place at the event.
Sandy Jones and the Forest Gate Church team ran a vintage tea room and Dan Carter ran sessions with a python and a bearded dragon and gave children the opportunity to handle them. Forest of Dean Camera Club took photos at the event.
“We really want to thank everyone who helped make this such a great day,” Nicola added. “It’s such a team effort and so many people helped out and turned up to support us.”
