LAST week's Review had a letter from a BC Baker from Lydney about the damage to the environment that wild boar do.
The comment couldn't possibly further from the truth. Wild boar lived in northern forests before mankind walked out of Africa.
They actually improve the woodland by aerating the soil, burying seeds and enhancing conditions for invertebrates.
This in turn feeds reptiles and birds.
We are about to have the most diverse and enriched forest in the UK yet all people see is upturned verges in the winter.
Well worth it in my book.
