NO doubt Tony Utting will have caused a flurry with his paranormal experiences, from the for and against, in investigating the supernatural.

I was most encouraged by his obvious open and investigative mind, and he is so right in stating "that the church has little idea."

From my mid 20s, and I am now soon to be 72, I began to see spirits in various forms, from ethereal and wispy to solid people, animals, orbs, even nature spirits and, in recent years, angels.

I too have given a talk, many years ago, to the Taunton, Somerset, group of The Society for Psychical Research - on psychic protection, in relation to haunted properties.

Millions of us, whatever religious following, realise that it isn't a case of life after death, but life before life; our stay here is a sojourn, a safari to experience, learn and express God's love in our relationships with others.

Receiving proof of that, either from the gifts of others, or our own personal encounters, takes us beyond the realms of money, health or family worries, beyond the mundane and banal, into understanding why we are here and that we never lose the ones we love.
