THE LEAVE campaign has won in the Forest, taking nearly 60 per cent of the vote.
Leave polled 30,351 of the 51,677 votes cast - 58.53 per cent of the vote while Remain took 21,392 or 41.39 per cent.
There were 34 spoilt ballots.
Leave campaigner Cllr Richard Leppington said he was ’not surprised’ by the win or the margin of victory.
He said: "We had an excellent response on the doorstep. People are sick and tired of the political class."
