New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of the Forest of Dean’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Sandwich Box at 7 Church Street, Newent, Gloucestershire; rated on July 6

• Rated 5: Taste Of South India at GL15; rated on June 30

• Rated 5: Mimi's Gourmet Kitchen at GL19; rated on June 28

• Rated 5: Black Pig at Black Pig Ale Bar, High Street, Newnham, Gloucestershire; rated on June 27

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: The Malt Shovel at West End, Ruardean, Gloucestershire; rated on June 30
