THOSE who regularly use the libraries in Monmouth can from now on return their books and audio items to the town's leisure centre and museum.
Staff at the libraries have taken steps to improve their service to customers in Monmouth by linking with colleagues at both the Monmouth Leisure Centre and the Nelson Museum. All customers have to do is hand their returned items to staff at the reception desk.
County cllr Bob Greenland, cabinet member with responsible for libraries, said: "We're always keen to make better connections to develop our services to the public and this is a good example of the innovative approaches the council has made in recent times."
Monmouth Leisure Centre is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7am to 10pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30am to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8.15am to 6pm. The Nelson Museum is open from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm on Monday to Saturday and 2pm to 4pm on Sundays. From March 1, the museum will close at 5pm each day.
