MONMOUTH lady golfers clubbed together to pot an impressive £690 for St David’s Hospice Care.

The Monmouth Golf Club ladies section captain Chris Everett raised £390 for the charity during her year in office while colleague golfer Lindsey Watkins raised £300 by staging a fashion show.

Chris said: "I chose two charities to support during my year. St David’s Hospice Care was one and the other was Lymphona. I split the money that I raised equally between the two charities. We staged a variety of fundraising functions during the year including a hugely successful bridge evening which saw 12 tables of four in competition.

"St David’s Hospice Care does such wonderful work in our community so I was delighted to have been able to do my bit to support their work."

Lindsey added: "The fashion show was a great success. We gained marvellous support from local Monmouth businesses for which we are extremely grateful."

St David’s Hospice Care community fundraiser, Tania Ansell said: "We can’t thank Chris and Lindsey and the rest of the ladies enough for all that they did to support us in this way."
