POLICE are probing a spate of car break-ins and thefts in the Ross-on-Wye area.
A Honda car parked in Henry Street was broken into by smashing a passenger window overnight on Tuesday to Wednesday, September 12 to 13, when the culprits rifled the glove box.
That morning at 5.10am, the alarm of a Seat car parked outside a house in Smallbrook Gardens also went off after an offender had smashed the passenger window.
Overnight on Thursday to Friday (September 14 to 15), a Ford Focus car parked in a private car park in Linton Wood Meadow in Gorsley was broken into and a purse taken.
Police also say that sometime overnight on Friday to Saturday (September 15 to 16) a grey coloured Audi A3 car was broken into in a Ross hotel car park and a Cube Special Edition Hardtail red and white bicycle, a coat and a red and grey Camel pack bag stolen.
On Monday (September 18) between 9.30am and 10.30am, a silver coloured Ford Transit van was broken into in Llangrove between Monmouth and Ross, and a drill bag containing a Bosch Impact driver and a Bosch hammer drill was stolen.

Police are also probing three incidents in the Ross area at the end of last month.
In the first, overnight between 11.30pm and 6am, on Wednesday to Thursday, August 23 to 24, a silver Nissan Nivara VRM car, registration VN17WBL, was stolen from a farm on Ledbury Road, Ross-on-Wye, after the keys were taken from inside the unlocked property.
The same night, thieves opened a locked Renault car parked at Ross Farm Machinery in Alton Road and rifled the glove box.
Police said that later that morning at 9.15am, four men were seen beside a grey BMW two-door car outside a house in Gorsley, Ross-on-Wye.
The driver got into the car and drove further along the road, leaving three outside the property.
The trio then walked up to meet the vehicle further along the road and got back in. No offences were committed, but police say their actions were suspicious and they are investigating.
