YOUNG pupils at a Coleford primary school love their school lunches – so when there was a threat to them they wrote to the Prime Minister.
The reception class at St John’s Church of England Academy got busy when Mrs Lisa Tootell, who manages the Olive Tree canteen at the school, saw a tweet from chef Jamie Oliver.
She asked Rowan class to design posters ahead of the Queen’s Speech in Parliament and tweeted pictures of them to the chef and to Forest MP Mark Harper.
They then signed a letter about free school meals and then walked to the Post Office to send their posters and the letter to Mrs May.
The children will no doubt be delighted that free school lunches are still on the menu.
