MEET some of the team who have taken part in a remarkable church hall make-over – a transformation which has taken just a month!

The Forest Church hall, known as the School Room, has been given the full treatment by a party of highly skilled and enthusiast volunteers collected together by Jane White.

Now Jane and her close allies Cathy Garland and Sue Tillans, are celebrating the completion of the task which, from start to finish, has taken just four weeks.

"They are calling us the 30 day make-over girls," said Jane.

Members of the church congregation raised over £2,000 to turn the dream of a new-look hall into a reality. The rest was down to hard work, from the individual skills of local tradesmen to the combined efforts of volunteers who pitched in with a will to tackle everything from painting to polishing.

Said Jane: "It was a tired hall but now it is a happy place to be. There is a 'Comfy Corner', a plasma screen and new tables and chairs plus a new clock. It really is a welcoming place."

It is hoped the hall will now attract more young people. It will also be available to local groups and for other functions such as wedding receptions.
