AN 80-YEAR-OLD man had to be cut free from his car last Tuesday after colliding with another vehicle on the A48.

The road at Elton Corner was closed for five hours from around 9pm after the man, who is from Luton, was travelling in a blue Vauxhall Cavalier and collided with a 40-year-old man from Gloucester who was travelling in the opposite direction in a blue Ford Focus at Wintles Hill, Westbury.

Both men were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to injuries believed non life-threatening.

Anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to the collision is asked to call 101 quoting incident 470 of 8/10/2014.
