SOUTH Lodge Garden in Clearwell is opening for its 11th year on April 1 as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS).

Spokesperson Jane MacBean said: “Spring is here again and South Lodge Garden, in Clearwell, will be opening for the first time this year on Saturday, April 1.

“We’ve been opening as a part of the NGS for 11 years with all the proceeds going to the NGS charities. To date we have welcomed over 2,500 visitors and raised more than £11,000 for a number of nursing and caring charities.

“Rosy Hardy will be giving two talks at South Lodge Garden during the opening. Rosy is the driving force behind Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants, near Winchester and one of the leading plantswomen in the country.

She designed a Chelsea garden on Main Avenue last year and has won 21 gold medals at Chelsea as well as many others at RHS Shows across the country. This is a rare opportunity to come and benefit from her expertise.”
