PUPILS and staff, past and present, of Walmore Hill Primary School marked its 150th anniversary with a picnic on the playground.
There were around 150 current and former pupils, including several generations, of the Westbury-on-Severn school.
Walmore Hill headteacher Brett Stevenson said: “Walmore Hill is a rock within its community and in many ways its success in the future will come from celebrating the past.
“The anniversary was a snapshot in time that brought together many generations of parents, pupils and teaching staff — the turnout and affection was huge.
“The world we live in may have changed but the strength of feeling is as strong as ever.
“Over the past year we have grown significantly, have benefitted from new investment, and our association with other schools, which is proven by our Ofsted ‘good’ rating, means happy children who are all different, but all equal,” he added.
“Roll on the next 150 years.”
