CHILDREN at a Lydney nursery are enjoying a new addition to their garden.

The overgrown path through the garden at Primrose Hill nursery has been completely revamped by Forest building firm KW Bell.

Managing director Keith Bell agreed to carry out the work after being approached with the suggestion by one of his workers, Matt Brooks.

Some four tonnes of stones and a new timber edging were laid by Neville Turner of KW Bell in the garden which is known as the Primrose Patch.

Nursery manager Sandra Giddins said: "The children absolutely love the new path.

"All the materials and labour were donated by KW Bell and the work was carried out by Neville Turner.

"It was a wasteland full of brambles, nettles and a totally dilapidated pond.

"It is now a beautiful area with fruit trees, a growing area, composters and water butts as well as a newly-built pond and now a path through the garden.

"All this has been achieved through the hard work and support of parents and Mr Bell."

Mr Bell said: "I've employed a lot of Foresters over the years and I like to give something back.

"This is the first time I've seen the finished garden and its looks very good."

The nursery recently held a sponsored walk which raised more than £780.
