SIMON Tudball didn’t let a dodgy knee get in the way of his latest fund-raiser for disability support group Forest Pulse.

He completed a 20-mile walk around the Forest before being met by members of the group with a ‘well done’ sign they made themselves.

Simon first became aware of Foret Pulse through a fellow member of the Forest of Dean Male Voice Choir who has a family link with the charity.

Simon, who lives in Coalway, completed the walk on Saturday afternoon (July 3) at the Heart of the Forest School at Speech House which is where Forest Pulse is based.

He said: “I love the cause and I love what they do for young people with disabilities and their families.

“HSBC are match-funding what I’m doing which means more money for Forest Pulse and the incredible work they do.”

Simon’s walk has raised £1,500 with match funding from his employers HSBC Bank – an amount similar to that raised when he had his head shaved for Forest Pulse last year.

Pam Jones, of Forest Pulse, said the money raised will go towards activities for the 120 young people who use the charity’s services.

She added: “For us, what Simon has done is phenomenal – it’s members of the community who know what we do and don’t benefit directly but who want to raise money to help keep us going.

“It’s money towards various activities we provide for disabled children – we support parents and we provide activities for young people with disabilities across the Forest.

“We have music, drama, after-school clubs and holiday clubs but without the support of Simon and people like him, we wouldn’t be able to do everything we want to do.

“It makes a huge difference and is so appreciated.”
