THE annual tourism forum, organised by Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism (WVFDT), takes place at Hartpury College this Friday (March 11).

Among the speakers are representatives from VisitEngland and VisitWales as well as Forest MP Mark Harper and Kelli Jenkins from South West Tourism Growth Fund.

Directors of WVFDT will present a progress report on how its work with national and international bodies is increasing visitor numbers from around the globe. There will also be workshops and sessions for attendees to learn about developments in the hospitality industry.

Ian Officer, chair of WVFDT, said: “2015 was a pivotal year for the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. In 2016 we will build on the success of great sporting and cultural events to help our members and the wider community.

“The importance of tourism to the economy is underlined by the weight of speakers for this year’s event. Their insight and inspiration will help local businesses welcome more visitors who will enjoy unforgettable adventures and experiences.”

The all-day event starts at 10am. For more information on how to book visit www.wyedean tourism.co.uk.
