A 15-YEAR-OLD has been offered a prestigious summer internship with a London-based cyber security organisation.
Dean Academy student Eleanor Kiely has been offered the place with CybSafe after attending an event in Cheltenham called BeTheChange, run by The Cyber Schools Hub (CSH).
Madeline Howard, CHS industry engagement co- ordinator, said: “We are delighted that Eleanor has secured a summer internship with CybSafe as a result of this event.”
Eleanor’s computing teacher at her Lydney school, Martin Warren, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Eleanor. It’s a great example of how our students with some guidance and an aspirational push can put themselves out there and be rewarded with amazing opportunities.”
Year 11 student Eleanor said: “I found the experience very inspirational and spoke to various different industry professionals. CybSafe, offered me an internship in London for two months during the summer, and I was overwhelmed with the opportunity and I’m eager to start.”
CybSafe’s Angie Li said: “Eleanor was resourceful and brave. She approached me with her big smile and we started chatting about what she enjoyed learning, how she got involved with the Cyber Hub.
“The NCSC CSH project has made it possible for industries to collaborate with many schools and network with organisations.”
