POLICE are probing two purse thefts from shoppers in Ross-on-Wye, including one from a victim who had her handbag hanging from their walking frame rifled.
The first theft took place in the Morrisons supermarket in Station Street, around 11am on Thursday, February 15, when a shopper discovered that their blue plastic pouch-type purse had been stolen from their handbag in their trolley.
The second theft took place two days later around midday when the shopper with a walking frame was targeted in the Aldi supermarket in Brookend Street.
In a separate incident in Station Street on Friday, February 16, a 24-year-old man was given a caution for theft after being found with a stolen laptop.
Police were alerted after an alarm was activated, and they found the laptop in a bag.
Other recent crimes in the area being investigated include the theft of a Honda TRX 500SA3 quad bike and single axle box trailer from a garage in Bridstow on Wednesday, February 14, between 10am and 3pm.
And a grey and white coloured VW Panel van, registration VRM WU51XET, was stolen overnight on February 15 to 16 from Hentland.
