THE annual Forest Showcase at Speech House attracted thousands of visitors eager to get a taste of the best in local produce.
With more than 100 stands, demonstrations by local chefs, live music and workshops there was plenty to see and do.
Rachel Thomas, one of the organisers, said: “We’ve had a great showcase with lots of people enjoying themselves and we were helped by the sunshine.
“Our ethos is all about the best local produce while making the event lots of fun with a family-friendly atmosphere.”
The theme this year was foraging and local forager led a number of walks into Speech House Woods to collect free produce such as berries and nuts which was later used by the chefs in the cookery theatre.
Among the chefs displaying their skills were Rob Cox of Tudor Farmhouse in Clearwell, Matthew Stead of Gloucestershire College and Andy Robertson of Harts Barn Cookery School.
