LYDNEY Quilters scored a success at Malvern with a classic ‘Dresden Plate’ quilt.
The group was delighted to be awarded first prize at the Malvern Show for their piece.
The quilt was made to raise funds for Lydney Hospital and the Victoria Centre in the town. It will be one of the prizes at a forthcoming exhibition by Lydney Quilters at the Masonic Hall in the town.
Maureen Jackson, the Chair of the group, said “To win first prize for our group quilt has been a wonderful way to raise awareness of our fundraising for Lydney Hospital and the Victoria Centre in Lydney. Our members are very talented and we hope our joint effort will raise funds for these local facilities.”
The exhibition of work by the group takes place on the weekend of June 15 and 16 at the hall on Highfield Road.
The group meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at St Mary’s Old Vicarage in Lydney. If you would like to know more or buy some raffle tickets, contact Maureen Jackson on 01594 843321.
