THROUGH your pages, I would like to express the admiration the Forest of Dean Morris Men have for the Freeminer Explorer Scouts, whose meeting place is at Beaver Lodge, Parkend.

For the third year in succession, the Morris Men went along to the Scouts' meeting, and taught them another traditional Morris dance, and once again the Morris Men were very impressed with the Scouts' enthusiasm and abillity to learn the dance.

There has been a lot of media coverage lately about the impending demise of the Morris, but the men came away from that meeting with the Scouts thinking that if this experience could be repeated across the country, and a certain percentage took up the Morris afterwards, at least there is a better chance for the Morris to survive.
