PUT on your red shoes, click your heels and you’ll be transported back to Kansas.

Well, Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls, actually, because that’s where Monmouth Music Theatre, in collaboration with Monmouth Music Theatre Youth, are performing The Wizard of Oz.

For two days, from April 7 to 9 (at 7.30pm), Dorothy, the Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow (not to mention Toto the dog) invite you to join them for the famous skip along the Yellow Brick Road to the land of Oz and the eventual meeting with the Wizard.

Along the way you’ll be entertained by a charming chorus of Munchkins, and not such charming monkeys, crows and jitterbugs.

Event spokesperson, Gay Rogers, said: “The members of Monmouth Music Theatre (and Youth) have worked hard over many months of rehearsing, to bring a magnificent show to you and you will not be disappointed.”

There will be a matinee on Saturday, April 9 at 2.30pm.
