AN international England rugby World Cup winner helped cut the ribbon to the £300,000 refurbished facilities at Cinderford Leisure Centre on Saturday.
Ceri Large, of Drybrook, joined the district council Chairman, Cllr Jane Horne and Cinderford town mayor, Cllr Max Coborn to celebrate the official opening of the revamped swimming pool, reception area and disabled access.
During the ceremony Leader of the Council, Cllr Patrick Molyneux presented a plaque.
There was also a family open day as residents not only met the rugby ace but had a tour of the new facilities and tried out a variety of free activities including Zumba, Tae Kwon Do and Boxerfit.
Ceri was part of the winning England ladies rugby team that lifted the world cup in August as their fly half.
Cllr Terry Hale, Cabinet Member for Community, said: "We were really pleased with the success of the family open day to mark the re-opening of Cinderford Leisure Centre. We would like to thank everyone that came along to enjoy the tour of the facilities and free activities."
