YOUNGSTERS across the Forest have the chance to get a taste for working life – thanks to Two Rivers Housing.
In partnership with contractor United Living, Two Rivers Housing is offering 18-24 year olds work experience in various trades from kitchen fitting, carpentry and plumbing to wall tiling and painting. They can also see what it's like to be a site manager or customer liaison officer.
Applicants can try out just one particular trade or have a taste of all of them, whether it's just for a few days, a week or two or maybe longer.
Andrew Smith, customer relationship co-ordinator at Two Rivers Housing, said: "It's hard to know what career path to take when you're young and often you've just got to assume you'll like it.
"We do such a wide variety of work here that we can offer young people a great opportunity to try out different things to see what they do and don't like – and it will look great on their CV, too."
Participants will be given a certificate after completing their placement which they can show to prospective employers.
Anyone who is interested should email a CV or letter telling Two Rivers Housing why they would be interested and what areas they would be most interested in, to [email protected]">[email protected] by Monday (August 3).
