TWO events with a vintage theme raised around £5,000 for Great Oaks Hospice.

The hospice’summer ball and a vintage tea party were held in a luxurious yurt at Leyfold Events at Westbury.

The 20th anniversary ball had a Roaring 20s theme and was attended by 115 people attending on a glorious summer evening where they ate and danced until midnight in a stunning yurt.

There was a raffle and auction with some fantastic prizes at the ball held on Saturday, August 13.

Great Oaks supporters returned to Westbury the following day for a vintage tea party.

Dancers, dressed in their finery, wowed spectators with some fantastic routines.

Afternoon teas were served and there was was also a fantastic display of vintage cars and tractors.

Great Oaks fund-raiser Debbie Hutchinson said:”We really couldn’t believe how many people turned up in such boiling hot weather to our tea party.

“Many of the guests who had attended the ball the previous evening returned the next day to enjoy round two.

‘‘I’d like to thank everyone who attended the fundraising events – the feedback has been absolutely amazing.

“I’d also like to thank Leyfold Events and all the businesses and suppliers who donated raffle and auction prizes together with china, props and decor.

“With your help the hospice can continue with and grow our services.

“Last year we looked after over 1000 people, offering many different types of help for patients, carers and their families.

“Our wide range offund-raising events mean that our community can come together, socialise, have fun and at the same time support our hospice. We have 10 Christmas parties booked and over 700 bookings received.’’
