AROUND 20 teams entered this year's sevens touch rugby tournament hosted by Drybrook RFC.
The eventual winners were Tingle's Tormenters – led by Joe Tingle – who beat Fathers and Sons by five ties to two in the final.
Drybrook RFC vice-chairman Chris Rawlings said: "This is the third year we've held the tournament and we were helped by the weather – last year it was very bad and we didn't have many teams.
"It's sponsored by the RFU (Rugby Football Union) and it's all about getting people involved in rugby and bringing them to the game.
"Some people don't like the physicality of the game but with touch rugby the emphasis is on having fun.
"We had some mixed sides including an under-16 girls team."
Preparations for Drybrook's senior side started in earnest this week with the start of training as the club seeks to build on an outstanding last season.
Chris added: "We started off with the launch of the England kit at the start of the season and it just went from there – we won the league and reached the final of the Senior Vase at Twickenham.
"We've recruited some new players. We've got strength in depth at the club and we are looking to build on that."
