CINDERFORD Town manager John Brough has to pick up his young team for this weekend's Southern League opener after a hugely disappointing exit from the FA Cup.
Brough said: "We should beat teams from lower leagues but we were a young team, a naive team, exciting at times but we need to do the basics better than we did.
"There is nobody more disappointed than me but the chairman, the board and the players are all disappointed.
"Three of the last four goals, two against Merthyr and one of the Horndean goals, came from set-pieces.
"We will score goals this season – we have an abundance of goal scorers – but we can't keep conceding cheap goals from set-pieces.
He said the only positives from the game were the return of Jacob Morgan from injury to score Town's only goal and that his team emerged with no injuries.
The job at this week's two training sessions is to pick up his team ahead of the trip to Bridgwater for the Southern League Division One South and West opener.
