SIX gymnasts from the Chepstow-based Kestrel club travelled to Carmarthenshire to take part in the South Area NDP Tumbling Qualifier.
All gymnasts had to compete three set tumble runs, and had to finish in the top six in order to qualify for the Welsh finals. Competing for the first time at NDP level, eight-year-olds Brereton Trim won gold and Robin Kedward won silver in Level One and nine-year-old Hollie Smith won silver in the girls’ section.
James Davies, who is 13, kept the pace up in Level Two by winning gold in his section.
The standard of the gymnasts in Level Three was very high and Maisie Edwards won Bronze in the 13/14-years section while Jessica Ham had a very good competition winning gold in the over-15 age group.
They all qualified for the Welsh finals in Haverfordwest.
